About Us
Caring Caps is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that knits items designed for babies and toddlers around the world. To the mothers, these hats are so meaningful. If you don't believe me, check out the pictures we have our of hats in use. For most, this is the only handmade item the child will receive from outside their village. Each hat is as unique as the knitter who made it and the child who will wear it! Our charity began 3 years ago when Natalie Barton was 13. She began making hats for babies in her local hospital, but when the Haiti earthquake struck, she realized the need was much greater. What started out as one girl knitting 40 hats has transformed into a community of volunteers who have knitted over 775 items. We have an established board of directors, and our an official non-profit organization. We are currently distributing items to 6 countries in need!
We want the mothers and family to know that they do matter to us, and that were are constantly thinking of them and praying for them. Caring Caps is made up of over 50 dedicated knitters that are constantly knitting various items to distribute throughout the world. Our logo visualizes just that. The heart at the center of the icon is dispersing love from all directions, emitting hope and joy. And that is exactly what we stand for.
